Work Experience

Director of Cloud Infrastructre at Esko
May, 2024 - Present
As the Director of Cloud Infrastructure at Esko, I lead our core cloud development teams within the R&D department. These teams are responsible for developing the cloud platform that integrates all Esko and Enfocus products. I play a pivotal role in shaping the vision for our cloud platform and guiding other teams in its implementation and use.
Lead Technical Product Manager at Esko
August, 2022 - May 2024
As the Lead Technical Product Manager, I lead Esko's team of Technical Product Managers. This team works on long term strategy and translates high level business goals into actionable plans. We take care of more complicated escalations and work across multiple departments.
Technical Product Manager at Esko
May, 2020 - August, 2022
As Technical Product Manager, I focus on the development of new products and research new innovations that Esko can bring to the market. Additionally, I'm also the escalation point for more complicated product issues that customers run into. As the title implies, in this role, I’m less involved in day-to-day commercial activities but more long term strategy.
Product Manager at Esko
June, 2018 - May, 2020
As Product Manager, I was responsible for the commercial success and strategy of Esko's flagship product (WebCenter) to the supply chain segment of our customers. I also oversaw the launch of our first product in the Esko Cloud (”Share & Approve”). In this new function, my focus shifted from a technical perspective to a more commercial one.
Product Owner at Esko ( India)
Jan, 2016 - June, 2018
In this role, I define and prioritize the development of Esko's "Package Content Management" solution, a web based platform to aid Brand Owners in globally controlling the contents of their labels, artworks, advertisements etc. This function requires me to regularly visit various Brand Owners, analyze their process and identify their needs. As the designated development team is based in Bangalore (India), I moved for one year to India in order to kick off this project.
Software Engineer at Esko
Sept, 2013 - Jan, 2016
I started working for Esko straight after graduating. In this starting position I worked as a software engineer on "WebCenter", a web-based platform for managing the complete life-cycle of packaging and artwork design. Due to the renewed focus on big Brand Owners, a lot of work went into up scaling and modernization of this platform.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Leuven

  • Majored in Computer Science

Projects

Illustrator / InDesign / C++ / Electron/ UX

Automated Artwork

I was one of the chief architects behind Esko's Automated Artwork solution. By introducing key new innovations in four different Esko products, we make it possible to automatically generate packaging and leaflet artworks. This eliminates the bulk of the laborious artwork generation process that everyone in the industry stuggles with today.

Java / Document Store / JavaScript / React / UX

Content Management

I lead the development of Esko's Content Management module on top of their existing web platform. This module allows you to create new content, reuse that content and track where that content is being used. The development of this module required close collaberation with customers in the Pharma and Life Science sector as well as with big CPG Brands.

C++ / Computer Graphics / Matlab

Non Diffuse Point Based Global Illumination

In my master thesis, I propose an extension on the illumincation algorithm that Pixar & Disney use to render realistic CGI scenes. My proposed extension to the algorithm more accurately renders light reflected from glossy surfaces like water, metal, etc.
